Entertainment hoist servicing for Tamworth Country Music Festival

Crane Care provided specialist entertainment hoist servicing and lifting equipment inspections in Tamworth ahead of the Tamworth Country Music Festival.

A team of three Crane Care technicians worked across three major entertainment venues, including Tamworth Town Hall, The Capitol Theatre and the Tamworth Regional Entertainment & Conference Centre. Across the venues, Crane Care serviced close to 60 electric entertainment chain hoists and stage motors.

The equipment included GIS, LiftChamp, LIFTKET and ProLyft entertainment hoists. Crane Care also inspected SRS motor control units and completed repairs where required to help reduce the risk of equipment faults and unexpected stoppages during festival operations.

The entertainment hoist servicing included visual inspections of the hoist bodies, suspension points and load hooks, along with checks of load chain condition, brakes, clutches and electrical components. Crane Care also carried out functional testing, lubrication, adjustments, and minor fault rectification as required.

Where required, Crane Care also undertook load testing and checked equipment identification, labelling and documentation. Crane Care documented and reported any safety-critical issues identified during the inspections so they could be addressed before the equipment returned to service.

Entertainment lifting equipment operates in demanding environments where reliability and safety are critical. Regular inspection and servicing help venue operators identify wear, faults and potential failures before they affect an event or place performers, technicians or audiences at risk.

Crane Care recommends visually inspecting entertainment chain hoists before use, regularly function testing them, and formally servicing and inspecting them at least annually, with more frequent inspections for high-use and festival environments.

This project demonstrates Crane Care’s experience servicing and inspecting entertainment lifting equipment for major venues and live events, including electric chain hoists, stage motors and associated control systems.
