Entertainment lifting equipment servicing at Sydney Opera House, Sydney

Crane Care provides specialist inspection, servicing and maintenance support for entertainment lifting equipment at the Sydney Opera House in Sydney.

Working within one of Australia’s major performing arts venues requires careful planning, technical expertise and a strong focus on safety. Crane Care coordinates maintenance activities around performances, production schedules and venue operations to minimise disruption while ensuring critical lifting equipment remains safe and reliable.

Crane Care carries out planned inspections and preventative maintenance across a range of lifting equipment used within the Sydney Opera House performance spaces.

The work includes mechanical and electrical inspections, servicing of electric chain hoists and stage motors, wire rope assessment and replacement, fault finding, repairs and rectification works.

Where faults or wear are identified, Crane Care technicians assess the equipment, complete the required repairs and confirm that the lifting equipment is suitable for continued operation.

Crane Care also inspects wire ropes for signs of wear, deterioration, and damage. Where replacement is required, Crane Care removes and replaces the affected wire rope to help maintain safe lifting performance and equipment reliability.

Inspection reporting and maintenance documentation are completed as part of the service process, giving the venue clear records of the condition, servicing history and maintenance requirements of its lifting equipment.

Through planned inspections, preventative maintenance and ongoing technical support, Crane Care helps the Sydney Opera House maintain entertainment lifting equipment used in demanding live performance environments.

This ongoing work demonstrates Crane Care’s capability to inspect, service and maintain specialised entertainment lifting equipment where safety, reliability and operational continuity are critical.
